I've only done solo-multiplayer using a workaround. So I'm not sure if each of the two players control one of the companions, or if it's the host who controls all companions. I'm not sure how the pre-made companion characters are controlled in true multiplayer, since I haven't done that yet. If you have 4 players, each can control their own character, if you have 2 or 3 players, you can recruit some of the premade story companions to complete your party, and they will act as they do in solo, so by default follow you around but can be controlled by a player, and you have to control them during combat encounters. You can go around the map, as much as you want independently of your party, but I think everyone has to do the resting together (?) Only one player/character can be in a conversation with npcs at once, but nearby players can listen in and see all the dialogue options. You each will have to create your own playable character. You can't play as the premade origin characters yet in early access (not in multi or single player) (I know there are mods for that, but not with the official content at least). Other players won't be able to log back into that session without that player. They will set the lobby and the others can join. One player will be the host, as in most multiplayer games. I haven't played much multiplayer yet, but from what I've experienced: I read everyone can start dialogue with npcs.ģ) So everyone can make decision by itself, complete sidequests, progress the main story?Ĥ) If more the one player engage in the same dialogue, can they make decisions together? Is there a votes system or what?ĥ) Do the players have to be near each others to change map? How much freedom does a player have to go around by itself?Ħ) Can a player control more than one characters? It will be nice to play with my friends and at the same time live the narration element at its best. I read every player can use a premade character or create a custom character.Ģ) If the players use premade characters, can they enjoy the specific companions dialogues like in single player? But I don't understand how this work.ġ) What can the main player do that others players can't? I understood there is a main player and the others are just "normal" companions. I have the game, but I will never start it before full release. Hi everyone! I'm very interested in baldur's gate 3 multiplayer, but I can't find recent information about it.
